MongoDB Atlas was first made generally available in June 2016. As we approach the 2 year mark, we began to reflect on the incredible trajectory our team, customers, and users have achieved.
Whether you're looking at the 3,400+ customers that have joined us or the close partnerships we have formed with all 3 major public cloud providers, it can be hard to believe that in just under 2 years, MongoDB Atlas has flourished from a concept to a trusted platform.
We’ve been continually humbled by the overwhelming reception from the global community of MongoDB users. From Ticketek, Australia’s largest ticketing company, to KPMG France and the Otto Group in Europe, to innovative startups in Taiwan, India, Colombia, and more, the worldwide community of users that have joined us since Atlas was released spans over 90 countries.
We’re committed to supporting the increasing global demand for a flexible, modern database platform. At MongoDB World in June, we announced our partnership with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform to allow you to run MongoDB in any major public cloud. In October, we were pleased to roll out cross-region replication, letting our users take advantage of the over 50 regions supported in Atlas.
As our community of users continues to grow and become more diverse, we want to ensure all of our customers are fully equipped to be successful on MongoDB Atlas. To that end, we have partnered with AWS, committing to 16 of their regional Summits. These 16 events span 13 different countries and expect to draw thousands of members of the AWS and MongoDB communities.
The format of the AWS Summits provides a fantastic, free opportunity for you to learn about the AWS cloud and its giant ecosystem of partners and tools.
Our team always enjoys the opportunity to meet our users and learn about the many projects, products, and businesses being built on our platform. We’ve already had the pleasure of meeting over 10,000 of you at AWS re:Invent and AWS Summits in the United States, Israel, and Italy.
Thanks for attending #AWSSummit in Milan this week! It was great to meet you all and to show how to #scale to your first 10 million users in front of so many of you. Now go build, and see you next year! pic.twitter.com/okfQpyk7JP
